Josh Naylor Went Full Sicko Mode After His Walk-Off Home Run And Headbutted 63-Year-Old Terry Francona
You would think that a 4-run bottom of the 10th inning to close the gap between the second place Guardians and the first place Twins would be the story here, but folks, you're going to have to wait til after the commercial break on that one. We're leading off with Josh Naylor, certified lunatic, going full on crazy and HEADBUTTING Terry Francona after a 2-run walkoff homer to send the fans home happy.
Tito putting on a helmet because he knew something crazy was coming is the best part of this story. Switched right back to the hat afterwards, but at 63 years old and not in the best health condition, he knew he needed some protection against whatever Josh Naylor was about to do. Because as you all know, this isn't Naylor's first rodeo with losing his mind during a celebration. Just last month he damn near launched his helmet to the moon after becoming the first player in major league history to hit both a grandslam and a 3-run homer in the 9th inning or later.
The most electric player in baseball, hands down. The only player in the game where his celebrations are better than his walk-offs. And one part I truly respect here is that he's not a show-off. He's not seeking attention. He's not bat flipping to the moon on every hit, knowing the cameras are watching. But when he hits a game-tying granny and then a go-ahead 3 run dong, or when he caps off a 4-run bottom of the 10th against the division leaders, he loses his god damn ever loving mind.
I pray Tito is okay. Wouldn't be surprised to see him on the 10-day DL this morning with a concussion. Oh, and while I'm talking to God, I'm also praying this team makes the playoffs. Naylor now holds perhaps the two most intense celebrations in baseball history, but they've been in May and June. Could you imagine a walk-off in October? He may bring out the gasoline and burn the stadium to the ground.
